Weil said there are thousands of FANUC robots, which are robots used in industrial manufacturing, in the United States, and more than 100 are at the GM plant in Bedford. Weil added, We must prepare students with the academic skills and understanding of how things work if we are to prepare them for the future. North Lawrence Career Center has many outstanding programs and this grant is going to elevate our engineering program to that same high standard by offering skilled training with serious technology. Technology and industry-quality equipment and software is critical to all of our programs as we continue to prepare students for success in careers, many of which will require additional post-secondary training. With this grant, we will be able to attract students and show them the potential and opportunity leading to great careers in manufacturing right here in Bedford.
